Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Classica ("Classica," "we," "us") collects when you use the Classica iOS app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built Classica to collect as little as possible — only what's needed to run your account and sync your learning progress.

Information we collect

Account information

If you create an account, we collect the email address associated with it. If you sign in with Google, we receive basic account identifiers (such as your email address) from Google to authenticate you. We never see or store your Google password.

Learning progress

When you're signed in, we store the progress data the app generates as you study — for example XP, current and longest streaks, last study date, vocabulary and grammar mastery levels, spaced-repetition card schedules, and which drills, passages, and translations you've completed. This lets us back up your progress and sync it across your devices.

Using Classica without an account

You can use Classica without signing in. In that case your progress is stored only on your device and is not sent to us.

What we do not collect

We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. We do not collect your contacts, location, or photos.

How we use your information

We use the information above to authenticate you and secure your account, to save and synchronize your learning progress across devices, to send essential account emails such as verification and password-reset links, and to respond to support requests you send us.

How your information is stored

Account authentication and progress data are stored using Google Firebase, a cloud platform provided by Google. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google's secure infrastructure. Google's handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

Sharing your information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that operate the app on our behalf (such as Google Firebase for authentication and storage), or where required by law.

Data retention

We keep your account and progress data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your account and its associated progress data.

Your choices and rights

You can access and update your progress at any time from within the app. You may request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and all associated data, by emailing us from your account address. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

Children's privacy

Classica is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
